Wednesday’s Weekly [8] (Week 12, 2012)

Time is still flying as it is wednesday already. Can you imagine that? The week litteraly seemed to fly by, as did the weeks before that. What might be helping, is the awesome weather we’re having over here. Yeah, it’s awesome. Today’s temperature is 15 degrees Celsius, tomorrow’s will be 18. 18! Funny as it is, if it were autumn, we would be dissappointed by these temperatures. But not now, not in springtime! I’m going to spend tomorrow bathing in sunlight, basking in the glory of this beautiful early spring.

Oh wait, I have an exam coming up next week, so I’m going to spend tomorrow sitting in a dark corner of the university library. Really. Fuck my life, right?

Anyway, because we are now after the jump (which proves to me you are a hardcore reader, thanks for that!) let’s talk business. I didn’t make much changes to the site last week. I only posted two entries, which is, again, a shame. Shame on you Felix. Repeat after me please, “SHAME OLN YOU, FELIX!” I’m sorry, my dearest reader, that I couldn’t be of much more service to you. On the bright side, I’m thinking of doing another weekly column like this one, only it will be a listing of five thing’s I love, hate, or suggest to you. Yeah, it’s very common, but I keep coming up with these lists I don’t know where to post. If you remember one of my earliest posts, called ‘5 great movies you’ve probably never heard about’, and my last entry which I posted yesterday (‘Android: Five free Apps I need‘), it will be somewhat like that. I just need to decide when I will be posting these weekly lists. I think I’ll go with saturday, since it spreads my weekly’s over the entire week.

Which gives you, reader, at least twice a week a reason to visit my blog. How great is that?!

Anyway, I just came back home from class in Amsterdam, which wasn’t really boring at all this time. I had to do a presentation, but I couldn’t really figure out what was expected of me. The assignment was quite vague about it, and I had to fill in the blanks myself. Yesterday, at about 23:00h, I decided to just go with it and see where it ends. I was tired and in dire need of some sleep.

Well, today was the big day. There was one guy who had to do the same assignment on another piece of text right before me. While I was listening, I almost shat myself. I finally figured out what was meant with the assignment, and I was way off. I frantically started reading up, changing line, deleting lines, adding lines, but at such a late point in time, it didn’t really matter much.

When it was my turn, I felt my heart pounding in my chest. The only thing going ’round in my head was “ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod”. As expected, the presentation itself went horribly. I couldn’t utter a word that I had previously written on my paper. What I said didn’t make any sense. I was doomed.

Or so I thought. Because after my presentation, it was time to defend my point of view against the teacher. This was my time to shine. I convinced him that, even though my point of view didn’t make any sense to me either, my point of view made a lot of sense. And I thought I wasn’t a salesman. Well, if you think of politics as something that can be sold, I’m your guy.

That’s it for now, thank you for reading. It has been a longer post than normal, but I felt I had something to make up to you, reader. Again, I’m sorry. I’ll kick myself in the balls if that makes you feel any better (please, don’t let that make you feel any better), I just have to figure out how to do that.

Signing off,

Felix.

PS: I got a 6+ for that presentation. Which is like a C, if any of you Yanks are reading this.
