90’s DTM in the UK recap, announcing round #6!
Another Thursday has passed. This can only mean one thing for The Privateer’s Pitbox: another fun night of racing the 90’s DTM cars has passed. And, in turn, this means it’s time for another recap and subsequent announcement of next week’s races!

90’s DTM in the UK recap
Race 1: Silverstone (National)
The first race brought us to the British countryside of Towcester. The ultra-short layout of Silverstone’s National layout was picked as the evening’s opener.
Qualifying fell prey to DUB STAR in a time of 59:953 driving the BMW. A very close second was Jeroen Jongen in a time of 59.972, just 0.019 away from pole position. Hat Waeijen took his trusty Alfa to third at a respectable distance, with 1:00.376 being his fastest time around the tiny track. The fastest Mercedes (one of only two) was myself, clocking in at 1:00.640 and a seventh place.
The race was business as usual as DUB STAR was able to reel in victory. His fastest lap (1:00.368) was also the overall fastest. Second position went to dub star, and swa cura was able to take home third.
Race 2: Brands Hatch (Indy)
The second race sent us down to Longfield for a 25 minute event at Brands Hatch’s Indy layout.
DUB STAR once again set the pace as he took home pole with a blistering 49.209. I was able to put my Mercedes in second place (49.510) as the Mercedes was a decidedly better fit on this track than Silverstone National. Third was swa cura’s Alfa, pushing his car across the line in a time of 49.602.
In the race, DUB STAR reigned supreme taking his second victory and registering his second fastest lap in the process (49.. Swa cura was able to nab second away from myself finishing in third position.
Race 3: Donington Park (Grand Prix)
The Derby hills of Donington were our third and last venue. We’ve visited Donington before, but this time we did our laps around the full Grand Prix layout.
Jeroen Jongen did a 1:37.5~, but improved upon his time by taking an illegal shortcut. This meant his previous fastest lap was overwritten by a faulty 1:30.597. His 1:37.5 still would’ve been enough for pole, as DUB STAR registered ‘only’ a 1:37.726. I put my Mercedes in third position just below the 1:38’s – 1:37.995.
The upset Jeroen pulled was not for long, as DUB STAR was able to maintain his unbeaten record for the night. A spin by Jeroen meant he was sent to the back of the field, while swa cura happily profited. I was able to bring home a respectable third position. Fastest lap went to Swa putting a blistering 1:38.071 on the table.
Mini-Competition #5 result
By winning three out of three races there was no question about who would win this fifth competition: DUB STAR. Swa cura finished in a deserved second place, finishing thrice on the podium (third, second and second). Dub star was able to hold on to third place in the final race.
