Benetton B191 || Porsche 992 GT3 R Custom Livery

I grew up watching Formula 1. I’ve said that many times already. I also grew up a Michael Schumacher fan. A BIG Michael Schumacher fan. One of my first uploaded liveries was a livery inspired by the car that Schumacher made his debut in: the Jordan 191, which I made for the Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo(1). And I always wanted to make more liveries from Schumacher’s storied history. So now I’m doing it.

After that first race at Spa Franchorchamps, Schumacher was immediately snatched by Flavio Briatore and the Benetton team. Which immediately put him in the seat next to a 3-time World Champion in Nelson Piquet. Yes, Max Verstappen’s father in law.

With Schumacher replacing Piquet’s teammate Roberto Moreno, Schumacher was already driving a race-winning car in only his second race at Monza, since Piquet had driven the Benetton B191 (pictured below) to a race victory at the 1991 Canadian Grand Prix earlier that year.

Schumacher drove the car in 5 races, starting from the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. In his first race, he immediately scored his first 2 points by finishing fifth. He scored 2 more points in the subsequent races by finishing 6th twice. Only to close out the season with 2 DNFs in a row. Such is life.

While the Benetton B191 was powered by a Ford engine, I opted not to take the Mustang GT3 as a base for this car. The main reason being that I just didn’t want to make a livery for the Mustang. And this specific design would ill suit the boxy design of the American muscle car. So instead, I made a Porsche livery. Sue me.
