Design: Marlboro McLaren Honda Custom ACC Livery

For our upcoming Ayrton Senna Tribute Event (May 1st, 2021) I created an in-game livery resembling the iconic Marlboro McLaren Honda livery (run in F1 by McLaren from 1973 through 1996), which I used to create the events’ poster.

I thought that would be the end of it, but I got a glimpse of inspiration. I used said glimpse to further expand upon this idea, and make a proper Marlboro McLaren Honda. Specifically, I based it on the McLaren MP4-6 with which Ayrton Senna won the 1991 Formula 1 World Drivers Championship (my birth year, too!). The result of my creativity you can see (and download, for free) in this post!

This is another semi-custom livery. This means I used an existing template to add more graphical elements to. This has the added benefit that (when using this livery online) people will still see a big part of the livery. To explain through showing, view the differences below.

In order to install this liveries, simply download them from the download link and extract the files to your ‘Assetto Corsa Competizione\Customs’-folder located in your Documents folder. You can then further personalize the design using the in-game editor.

To showcase the livery a bit more, I’ve got some pictures for you. First, some studio pictures and then some action shots from a morning stroll at Suzuka (without any post-processing added, I swear!).
