ACC Playercounts in Review: May 2021

It’s June so that means it’s time to review the player numbers for the past month: May (2021). In last month’s post I wrote that I thought April would not be much different to March. March had a slight decline on because the game was still riding a high on the coattails of the British GT DLC release in february. Now that the numbers are in, let us see if I was right! A short TL;DR in advance: May 2021 started astonishingly strong but good weather saw the numbers dip down for the final third...

Make your own 2022 Formula 1 livery with this free template

Please note: a new 2023 update to this template can be found by clicking this link! On 22 January 2017, I published a post. This post, titled “Make your own 2017 Formula 1 livery with this template“, allowed users to do as much as as the title described: let people use my pre-made template to create custom liveries. I linked this to reddit’s /r/Formula1 subreddit, where it quickly took off. Not only did it receive a lot of short-term popularity, it remains (even now) one of my most visited posts....

Make your own Ferrari Challenge custom livery!

Custom liveries can really add something to a championship. A sense of identity and recognizability, as well as a bit of realism. The in-game made liveries often stick out like a sore thumb. To my overly critical eyes at least. To me, a good custom livery blends in nicely with the real-world liveries found in the game. Unfortunately, the in-game liveries fail to do so because of a lack of branding and sponsors. The reason for this is simple: licensing. Sidenote: while I’m not a lawyer, I suspect the rights...

ACC Playercounts in Review: April 2021

It’s May 1st – May Day – so that means it’s time to review the player numbers for the past month: April (2021). In last month’s post I wrote that I thought April would not be much different to March. March had a slight decline on because the game was still riding a high on the coattails of the British GT DLC release in february. Now that the numbers are in, let us see if I was right! A short TL;DR in advance: April is a good indication of the game’s health:...

Design: Marlboro McLaren Honda Custom ACC Livery

For our upcoming Ayrton Senna Tribute Event (May 1st, 2021) I created an in-game livery resembling the iconic Marlboro McLaren Honda livery (run in F1 by McLaren from 1973 through 1996), which I used to create the events’ poster. I thought that would be the end of it, but I got a glimpse of inspiration. I used said glimpse to further expand upon this idea, and make a proper Marlboro McLaren Honda. Specifically, I based it on the McLaren MP4-6 with which Ayrton Senna won the 1991 Formula 1 World...

TPP Presents: the Ferrari Challenge(s)!

With the SuperTrofeo wrapped up and the inbetween DTM GT3 Challenge too, it is time to look towards The Privateer’s Pitbox‘ next big championship. Or should I say… championships! Starting the first week of May, we will have not one, but two championships to fight for! The Ferrari Challenge will have both an Endurance Series (on Fridays) and a Sprint Series (on Sundays)! Based on the results of the survey ran within our community after the SuperTrofeo championship, the single car format proved the most popular option and the Ferrari...

The Lamborghini SuperTrofeo Retrospective

The SuperTrofeo is finished. In my eyes, it was largely a success. Because I’m a huge statistics nerd – and to learn from this championship on the road to the next one – I like to dive into the numbers generated by this championship. Furthermore, I ask our drivers how they experienced the championship in a survey, the result of which can also be read below. The championship was won by Felix de Jongh (me!), followed by Pavel Dolezal and Oscar Pink in third. Below, you can view the final...

Get into leagueracing with Simracing.GP

In March of 2020, MrGit kindly sent me an invitation to Simracing.GP. At the time, I was unfamiliar with what it was. We did a few races to try things out. At the time it was very barebones and only supported Assetto Corsa (AC1). Over the following months, the platform kept adding new features. When the day came that it started supporting Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC), MrGit organized a few leagues through the platform. This made me fall in love with it. So much so that when we started The...

ACC Playercounts in review: March 2021

Since we’re well into April by now, it’s time to review the player numbers for the past month: March 2021. In last month’s post I predicted the player numbers to go back to January’s totals after the record shattering month that was February. I predicted an average concurrent of ~4600 players. Now that the numbers are in, let us see if I was right! A short TL;DR in advance: After British GT DLC boosted ACC to new records, March reverted back to January’s levels of activity as a healthy correction;...
