I can’t believe I’ve been this fired up about a second season of a television-series. Movies, yeah, but series? No. HBO has done magnificently in turning the book-series into a something worth watching. The production value is so high, it resembles The Lord of the Rings in quality. I’m not going to compare the two in detail, but both are based upon great fantasy literature, but where LotR has been written half a century ago, A song of Ice and Fire (the name of George R. R. Martin’s series) is still ongoing. It is, however, nearing it’s end.
I can’t say I’ve read the books, but after seeing the show, I don’t want to spoil it by reading the books anymore. Maybe in the future, when the series has ended, I might pick them up to read. For now, I’m very happy with the first season. And now, the trailer for the second season (which is featured above, if you haven’t seen it already) makes an appearance.
I did some digging on IMDb, and Holland’s pride and glory, actress Carice van Houten, is going to make an appearance in at least two episodes. Whether it’s a big role, I don’t know, seeing I haven’t read the books. However, this fact is making me even more fired up for the second season. Sadly, I, and everyone else, is going to have to wait until the 1st of April, which is when the first episode of season two will air.
In the meantime, I’m going to ease my mind by listening to the theme song. If you, like me, can’t wait, I suggest you do the same:
