1971 Martini Racing #23 Porsche 992 GT3 || ACC Custom Livery
The Porsche 917K is one of, if not the, most iconic Porsches. And, it’s had many liveries which already have spawned some form of recreation by my hand. Like the Salzburg livery, which I’ve already made for the Porsche 992 GT3 R and the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup. Or the iconic Gulf livery. Or the white Martini livery.
The white and blue/red striped Martini livery is perhaps one of the most recognizable racing liveries, because it was not just used in endurance racing, but also in Rallye, Formula 1, and probably a host of other, smaller racing series.
But what if I told you a different version of this livery exists? One that does not adhere to the classing colours?
Well then you’ll probably tell me about the majority red-coloured Brabham BT45 F1 car.
But what if I told you there was another? And that it was driven by the driver pairing who would later go on to win the 1971 Le Mans 24H, Gijs van Lennep and Helmut Marko (yes, that Helmut Marko)?
Enter, the #23 Martini Racing-Team Porsche 917K, as seen below.
Van Lennep and Marko would win the 24H Le Mans in the regular white/blue/red coloured Martini livery of the #22 car. No, they drove the #23 for 6 laps of the 1971 1000KM of Spa Franchorchamps.
And I couldn’t find any more reference of this driver pairing driving this livery with this car number, so this might be the most obscure livery I’ve remade to date.
I just thought it looked cool, okay?!
