My first venture into selling something online.

Yesterday, I was visiting my parents. While travelling, I saw more and more people putting on their steels to skate on the ice. It made me want to follow their example, but I don’t have iceskates. So, I borrowed my father’s skates. Hilarity ensued. I haven’t accumulated more than ten hours of experience in my life. Naturally, when I took to the ice, I almost fell over backwards. Then forwards. Then sideways. I’m proud to say that, even after ten minutes of almost falling over, I never did fall over....

Movie Review: Immortals 0

Movie Review: Immortals

When you read ‘From the Producers of (X)’, it’s almost always a trick to get you to the cinema and see the movie. They want to make you think it is from the same creators, a.k.a. directors/writers, but it’s not. It’s the same producers. The only thing producers produce, is the money needed to make the film. They put the people together whom will make the film. When Immortals started advertising about being by the same producers of ‘300’, I started suspecting this movie sucked. The director, Tarsem Singh...

Now I know why earthquakes aren’t predictable. 0

Now I know why earthquakes aren’t predictable.

The following footage shows data collected by the Japanese. It’s a so-called earthquake visualisation map, and the emphasis is around the big earthquake from last year, which caused a tsunami and the fukushima nuclear disaster. I tried finding a pattern leading up to the big quake, but if scientists can’t do that in a century, I certainly can’t do that in a few minutes. The video starts at around one minute, I suggest turning up your volume to hear the best dubstep ever. Let’s see if you can spot the...

More snow equals more pictures 2

More snow equals more pictures

It had been forecast, this buttload of snow. I was eagerly awaiting it, because I love snow. I love walking in it, I love walking on it. I love seeing it. I love feeling it. I love throwing it. So, when the first few flakes where falling, I grabbed my cellphone and went out for a walk. I don’t have any other means of photographing, so due to the really bad quality pictures my phone makes, I had to use the same app as last time to enhance the quality/ make...

ACTA, what is it, and what will it do? 1

ACTA, what is it, and what will it do?

There’s something brewing in international politics. Governments are seeking possibilities to limit out freedom. In the USA, SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) have luckily been shot down due to popular activism to do so. Then why do these elected government officials keep looking for new ways, new bills, new names, to limit our freedom on the internet? The newest contender is ACTA (Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement). Well, it’s not fairly new, it has been introduced in Octobre of 2010. The problem with this legislation, is...

Game of Thrones season 2 teasertrailers

I can’t believe I’ve been this fired up about a second season of a television-series. Movies, yeah, but series? No. HBO has done magnificently in turning the book-series into a something worth watching. The production value is so high, it resembles The Lord of the Rings in quality. I’m not going to compare the two in detail, but both are based upon great fantasy literature, but where LotR has been written half a century ago, A song of Ice and Fire (the name of George R. R. Martin’s series) is...

Wednesday’s Weekly (week 5, 2012)

Hi there, my new reader. First of all, welcome to my blog. Second, welcome to my new weekly column, which features a little bit of everything. What I’m doing, what I’m thinking of, and what I’m planning. This is the ‘diary’ part of my blog. As far as the website is concerned, I’m currently pretty happy with the layout as it now is. Don’t expect any big changes. I’ve added a few things, including the ‘testimonials’, which I personally find hilarious. You might disagree, but that’s just my sense of...

WARNING: listening to this may cause severe addiction

It’s still tuesday night, and if you’re not watching one of my movie suggestions, you might as well enjoy this. One of the greatest songs live performed, unplugged by an aging David Gilmore. You’re welcome.

5 great movies you probably never heard about. 3

5 great movies you probably never heard about.

It’s tuesday evening. You’re either planning to go to bed, or don’t know what to do yet. Eitherway, there’s always time to watch a movie, right? Don’t know what to watch? I’ve compiled a list for you to choose from – being an addict to movies  watching about ten movies per week – which I think are must see, or at least very watchable. I’m 99% sure you haven’t seen them all. Blood in, Blood out. (1993) IMDb rating: 7.7 featuring: Billy Bob Thornton (small role), rest of the cast is...

And so it begins… 1

And so it begins…

Today, I wanted to watch the new HIMYM-episode, so I went to ThePirateBay to download it from my favourite uploader. Downloading has always been legal in Holland, but uploading hasn’t. Instead of finding the trusty pirateship, I got a blue screen. Luckily, not the blue screen of death, but it’s comparable. At least, with a BSOD, you know that restarting your PC helps. With this blue page, F5’ing didn’t work. It was a blockade, put up by Ziggo. I knew about this in advance, ofcourse, I followed the news about...
