ACC Playercounts in Review: August and September 2021

It’s October now. Which means, time for another rundown of ACC’s player statistics. Last month, I was on a well-deserved holiday. Therefore, we’ll be analysing both August and September today. So hold on tight, while I take a deep dive into the numbers of these past two months! In short: the decline is over! The steep downward trend we saw starting in May and which continued over June and July has been halted. There’s even a small hint of recovery. Not by much, but the signs are there. A short...

Design: Formula E (-lectric) Drift

In February 2020, Formula E announced its intention to introduce the Evo version of its Gen 2 design. This Evo design saw an update to both the front- and rear wings, and a new shark fin was added to the existing design. I thought it looked pretty cool, so I started the groundwork for an illustration based on it. I started with a drawing (pictured below), which I scanned and used as a basis for the eventual design which I would make in Illustrator. Unfortunately for me, a couple of...

Design: Pegasole Splash

Last year, I made a design based on my running shoe’s sole design. I really liked the design, but I also thought it was a little bit bland. I thought I could do better. So, recently, I took said design and updated it. The result of which can be seen in this post, and ordered on my Redbubble storefront! For this design, I felt inspired by Nike Sportswear’s 2021 Tee Futura, pictured below. I really liked the Synthwave or Retrowave colour scheme of the logo on the black shirt. Unfortunately,...

ACC Playercounts in Review: July 2021

It’s already August. We are half way into 2021. Let that sink in for a bit. Not only has half a year gone by already, it also means that it’s time to review the player numbers for the past month: July (2021). In short: July was another bad month. June saw a decline of 11.4%. I predicted the average concurrent player count to dip below the 4K line in last month’s post. Being right on this count doesn’t feel good. Not at all. If you want to know why, read...

Design: Mathieu van der Poel

I’m not only a four-wheel racing fan. I also enjoy two-wheel racing. And no, that doesn’t just mean MotoGP. It also means cycling. And one of the most exiting riders of the past couple of years just happen to be Dutch (like me): Mathieu van der Poel. Understandably then, I’ve become a big fan of his. I wanted to convert this fandom into a design. I chose to make a logo design featuring his face, covered by his iconic helmet and glasses – the way we most often see him...

Design: Envision Virgin Racing ACC Custom Livery

Formula E. People seem to either love it or hate it. Myself, I think the series has great potential but still has some problems to overcome. However, it is undeniable that Formula E has spawned some great-looking liveries.  Having done the TAG Heuer Porsche 99X Electric and the Audi ABT e-tron FE07 livery, it is now time to present my latest Formula E conversion: the Envision Virgin Racing Formula E 2021 livery! Like the Audi e-tron FE07 before, I based this livery on the 2019 Audi R8 LMS Evo. A...

5 new and upcoming sportscars which deserve future GT3 versions

Group GT3 is a set of regulations created by the FIA for converted road cars to be used in various national and international racing series. Such as the SRO GT World Challenge, the ADAC GT Masters, or (as of 2021) DTM. Since its introduction in 2005, group GT3 has seen 52 homologations, while some GT3 spec cars without homologation are allowed to participate in some GT3 series. GT3’s homologation strategy ensures a low development cost for manufacturers, meaning it is an attractive option to many brands to market themselves to...

Design: TAG Heuer Porsche 99XE ACC Custom Livery

Formula E. People seem to either love it, or hate it. Myself, I think the series has great potential but still has some problems to overcome. However, it is undeniable that Formula E has spawned some great looking liveries. Last time around, I recreated the Audi ABT e-tron FE07 livery. This time around, I converted the TAG Heuer Porsche 99X Electric. First, we’ll have a quick tour of the livery which is based on the Formula E car pictured below, after which there’s a download link for a free download of...

ACC Playercounts in Review: June 2021

It’s July so that means it’s time to review the player numbers for the past month: June (2021). In short: June wasn’t a good month. I was expecting the average peak playercount to go down, but not by as much as it did. In last month’s report I expected the number to go down to ~4700. Unfortunately, it dropped down to ~4300 (4296). A short TL;DR in advance: June 2021 started with a free weekend, which set a new concurrent playercount record of 6926 peak concurrent players The first week...

Design: Audi ABT e-tron FE07 ACC Custom Livery

Formula E. People seem to either love it, or hate it. Myself, I think the series has great potential but still has some problems to overcome. However, it is undeniable that Formula E has spawned some great looking liveries. The best of which, I think, is the Audi ABT e-tron FE07, pictured below. I’ve been toying with the idea to recreate this livery in Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) for a long time, but it seemed to be out of my league. Last week, I tried my hand at another Audi...
